GET CERTIFIED/RE-CERTIFIED

There are several certifications required before you can register for your background check (required every year). These certificates are mandated by federal and state laws, along with US Soccer, US Youth Soccer, and Washington Youth Soccer in order to ensure the safety of our kids.

For those who have previously taken the full SafeSport course and have been certified, you only need to take the “refresher” course to renew your certification. After logging into SafeSport, you will see your certification status and the option to take the SafeSport refresher course.

IMPORTANT: Once you’ve completed each course, you’ll be provided with an automatically-generated certificate that you’ll need to save to your computer so that you can upload it into the Sports Affinity system when registering for your background check. Be sure to save each certificate where you can easily access it during the next step.
